Community Credit- what a silly, great idea
I just became aware of Community Credit and thought this was the most ridiculous, silly and WTF tech site I had come across in some time. So I immediately joined because I also thought it just ROCKED.
Check it out.
I immediately thought of what a pain it would be to always go to the site and log my points. Then it hit me. And what followed was this email to David Silverlight that went like this:
I immediately thought of something I’d like to contribute to the community if no one else has done so. I’d like to build a Vista Sidebar Gadget that would:
- Show new point entries by community members (seemingly an RSS feed of this would be the ideal and also universal to more than the gadget). This allows folks to immediately go to the link and use the content.
- Allow community members to enter their points. – If they are like me it’s easier if I can just do it as I make a post, complete a task etc. A secure web service seems the trick here. :-)
- Hmmm… that’s a good start.
So… is anyone doing this. If not is there or could such a creature be created- as in can community credit support the infrastructure from their side of providing the info?
I imagine this entry is worth some points... but what's the likelihood I'll log it. I just don't think I have the time to log all my community related activities.
