Supporter of Microsoft with Affirmation and Criticism
I'm a supporter of Microsoft in many ways. I support a number of Microsoft activities with my affirmation when I think things are a job well done and with my criticism when I think it is well deserved. Not that my affirmation or criticism carries any weight but it doesn't stop me from expressing it.
In this modern world where plausible deniability or even more sadly deniability even when not plausible is common place it's nice to see when an organization owns up to something that is not politically correct. I don't play Halo but I did read this article from Computer World titled "Nudity in 'Halo 2' escapes Microsoft's notice". What I liked about this was the following statement:
"It was added in jest, and not meant to be in the final build,"
I was reading the article specifically to find out if anyone owned up to the very strong likelihood that this was done as an inside joke and never meant to be part of the actual release. I was pleasantly surprised it was not falsely attributed to some unknown rogue developer with a story about how it had also unfortunately gotten by QA.
Bravo to Microsoft and the Halo team for simply telling the truth.
