Visual Studio 2008 Beta 2 Install Experience Forthcoming and VMware Workstation

I plan to perform my front to back Visual Studio 2008 Beta 2 install this evening after hours and report back. I will be recording it for a Rough Cuts in Technology Microcast but who knows how long the editing will take me on that part.

I set up the virtual machine environment this weekend with the domain controller and just one other server on which I will install a single tier TFS 2008 instance- is that the proper name? I plan to use the same machine for the IDE install. I decided to try out VMware. I have pretty much used Virtual Server exclusively for this type stuff. One thing I found out is that even with VMware Workstation 6.0 (which is supposedly Vista x32 compatible) if I don't mark it for Run as Administrator the internal LAN will not work. Sadly, it took me far to long to figure that out this weekend. Even more sadly as a testament to my apparent dumbness no one else has ever had this problem and seemingly have always run it that way from the beginning or with UAC turned off because I could find not a single reference in the VMware forums to this issue. I suspect it's because many are running with UAC off or just set it as run as Administrator for other reasons that I as a first time user have not experienced.

I'm not so sure about setting this up under VMware because I have a server at home I use specifically as a virtual server running Microsoft Virtual Server and I won't be able to move these machines over to it and they will be relegated to my day to day workstation.
