DDD, a nap or Silverlight and TFS

Now if that is not a broad title what is? I'm torn at the moment between spending some time working on a domain design that is sorely needed for my day job, reading and taking a nap- because I do not feel all that well, or working on a Silverlight 2.0

I have a TFS server running on a virtual server that I recently wanted to restore from a know backup and was surprised when the Acronis software told me it would take 4 days. That's right- 4 days! Here is how it all went down. I had made a full backup

Standing alone

I just had to share. My youngest son has decided recently that he'd like to start thinking more seriously about walking. Letting go and a few small baby steps and it constituted a major milestone for him. In the picture below you see this huge silly grin

Where Are YOU Taking Your Career?

Notice I did not title this 'Where is Your Career Taking You.' I firmly believe each individual is firmly in charge of where his career heads. Where are you taking your career? I was recently speaking with a friend who had just returned from business

A recent comment about recent posts

A well respected colleague and former coworker of mine recently said to me "Keep the interesting blog posts coming" That meant a lot to me. I wasn't sure if anything about the more theoretical or more personal - yet hopefully appropriate to technology

A somber post

I'm in Logan Airport (Boston) and just witnessed the unloading of a casket from a hearse and loaded onto the plane. A casket escorted by a contingent of Officer and enlisted Naval personnel. Whether it was the active duty sailor that died here in Boston

KT Tunstall - get the album - one degree from Portishead and while I'm thinking of it - gotta love Bebel Gilberto

On a non-technical entirely personal note. If you like folk/pop/rock and do not own KT Tunstall's Eye to the Telescope then I recommend you take a listen and I'm sure you will buy it just as I did. Why did I not buy this sooner I'll never know. Oh, and

Tagged - 5 Things you probably didn't know about me

Rob tagged me and now I will fulfill my obligation of telling five things you probably didn't know about me. The funny thing is I found Mr. Caron's five things to be eerily close to some of the things I could have said - such as college experiences and
